One of Northeastern University’s satellite campuses was right down the street from my office in Seattle. They were growing fast, and as a result they were now the primary tenant in two buildings in the South Lake Union Neighborhood. They requested a wide range of interior and exterior signage and graphics, with the goal to stay true to the core brand, while creating a unique sense of place in the PNW.
This required an approach which envisioned a multi-layered consumer experience. Exteriors focused on awareness and visual impact, while interiors created a more intimate and narrative experience for the students and staff. The solution needed representations of our local urban life mixed with global storytelling elements to tie together Seattle’s unique history and culture, and the diverse student body drawn there.
